Mathematical Software Demonstration (13 Jan 2000)

The Magma Computational Algebra System for Algebra, Number Theory and Geometry software package developed by the Computational Algebra Group of the University of Sydney will be demonstrated on day 1 (Tuesday, 18 January 2000) during afternoon coffee break (15.30 - 16.30).

Parking Facilities

Parking is available under the Melbourne Exhibition Centre (MEC) for $6 per day if you arrive by 9.00AM. The entrance is via Normanby Road (which is at the back of the centre). Follow this link for more information .

Public Transport

Trams: No. 12, 96 and 109 all travel along Clarendon Street, servicing the C.B.D., and there is a tram stop directly outside.

Catch No. 96 from Burke Street and No. 12 or 109 from Collins Street. Trams run every 6-8 minutes during peak times, and every 10-12 minutes between 9.00AM and 4.00PM.

Peak Hour: 7.00AM - 9.00AM and 4.00PM - 6.00PM.

Trains: Spencer Street is a gentle 10 minute walk from the MEC.

Dandenong, Frankston, Belgrave, Lilydale and Sandringham Lines: every 15 minutes to Spencer Street Station.

St Albans, Williamstown, Werribee, Upfield, Epping and Eltham Lines: every 20 minutes to Spencer Street Station.

Bus: No buses run along Spencer, Clarendon or Flinders Streets at anytime.

Taxi: Ranks outside all major hotels within C.B.D. area, also Spencer Street and Flinders Street stations.

Drop off points at Clarendon Street and Lorimer Streets.

Conference Registration

Enter the MEC via the front door in Clarendon and proceed up the stairs (behind the Reception desk) to the first level or use the lifts.

The conference is being held in the Auditorium and registration will commence from 8.30AM - 9.30AM in the foyer outside the Auditorium.
